Building Baltimore at the Panther Playhouse

Our scenic crew has been hard at work constructing our   “Big, Blonde, and Beautiful” set for this Spring's musical, Hairspray! This will be the inaugural production in the school's brand new auditorium set to open in just a few weeks.  This will be the largest scenic design ever executed by the Panther Playhouse.  The crew has recently finished all platforms needed for the show and are currently working on pieces for Ms. Motormouth’s Record Shop, Tracy’s bedroom, and much more! Be sure to catch Hairspray at the Panther Playhouse March 26th- April 4th!  Tickets go on sale on March 2nd.

Ben Sutton (Junior), measures wood to cut for set pieces.  “To me, this is one of the most crucial parts of our job,” said Sutton. “If we miscalculate one measurement, there’s always the possibility we have to go back and cut and ensure all over again, so it’s important we try and get it right our first time.”
