Bartlett High School’s Panther Playhouse presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with music and lyrics by William Finn.  This production runs November 3rd-11th at Bartlett High School.  

Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee tells the story of an eclectic group of six adolescents vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box. ​

The production stars Morgan Conner as Rona Lisa Perretti, Elliot Lear as Vice Principal Douglas Panch, Nate Freeman as William Barfee, Alyssa McNinch as Olive Ostrovsky, Chase Taylor as Chip Tolentino, Anora Moyer as Loggaine Schwartzandgrubenniere, Bryce Goodson as Leaf Coneybear, Ainsley Keegan as Marcy Park, and Malachi Stewart as Mitch Mahoney.   The show also features an ensemble starring Brylee Harber, Hayley Lunsford, Charles Johnson, Kylee Oldham, Joshua Orozco, and Adalee Walker. 

This production is directed by Kirie Walz, with technical direction by Kevin Rogers and designed by BHS theatre students.   

Bartlett High School is located at 5688 Woodlawn St, Bartlett, TN 38134. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, and $10 for children (10 and under) and can be purchased at www.bhspantherplayhouse.org or can be purchased at the door.

Bartlett High School’s Panther Playhouse has announced its 2022-2023 season as it enters the third year in the beautiful new 840 seat facility.  This year’s season will kick off with the Disney Channel’s smash hit High School Musical Jr. which will be directed, choreographed, and designed by BHS students.  Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood will be next in the lineup, packed with thrills, romance, laughter, and immortal characters like Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian, and Robin Hood, hero of the people who takes on the ruthless powers that be. Get ready to duck a quarterstaff or two – you won’t want to miss a moment of the swashbuckling fun!  Closing out the season, the Panther Playhouse is thrilled to bring back the show that never was – Hairspray. In the spring of 2020, just a few weeks away from opening night, BHS students left for spring break expecting to open the very first show in the new theatre only to never return for the remainder of the school year.  This spring the show will finally open and tell the story of the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, who has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from a social outcast to a breakout star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her ‘do!

BHS Panther Playhouse Season Passes are now on sale and include 8 tickets that are good to use at any performance, in any combination for the 2022-2023 season.  Season Passes cost $70 and can be purchased at www.bhspantherplayhouse.org/tickets.

​Bartlett High School’s Panther Playhouse presents Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry. This production runs for two nights only: Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th in the NEW Bartlett High School Auditorium!
Spies, murder, love, and other trademarks of Alfred Hitchcock come to life in the style of a 1940s radio broadcast of the master of suspense's earlier films. With The Lodger, Sabotage, and The 39 Steps, Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play is a triple feature, complete with vintage commercials, that recreates a daring train chase, a serial killer's ominous presence, and a devastating explosion through the magic of live sound effects and musical underscoring.

This production stars Shy’Kira Allen, James Barrows, Elizabeth Bennett, Abigail Bledsoe, Ethan Bogard, Steele Bowers, Matthew Brooks, Caydence Davis, Aubree Farrell, Zach Griffiths, Rachel Henry, Emma Less, Audrey Miller, Meg McVay, Taina Pardo, Kayley Perkins, Josh Pettit, Lucas Rayborn, Cole Reed, Holden Rogers, Eddie Shauwecker, Ben Sutton, Amara Trammell, Abby Wright, and Anna Wright.

This will be the first ever production performed in the newly built, state-of-the-art Bartlett High School Auditorium. You do NOT want to miss this suspenseful drama that’ll have you on the edge of your seat the entire night. 

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, seating for this production will be limited to 25% capacity in order to maintain social distancing.  Patrons attending the live performance must wear a mask at all times in the building.  All performers will be masked and socially distanced throughout the performance. 

Tickets will go on sale, Monday, October 26th.  Adult tickets will be $10 and student tickets will cost $8.  For patrons wanting to enjoy the performance from the comfort of their own home, there will be a live stream available for the price of $15 per household.

The forensics team competed at Southwest Tennessee Community College on Saturday winning SECOND PLACE overall. They were only 6 points away from their first ever first place finish. This completes their regular competition season as they prepare for the State Tournament in April.

This will be the inaugural production in the school's brand new auditorium set to open in just a few weeks.  This will be the largest scenic design ever executed by the Panther Playhouse.  The crew has recently finished all platforms needed for the show and are currently working on pieces for Ms. Motormouth’s Record Shop, Tracy’s bedroom, and much more! Be sure to catch Hairspray at the Panther Playhouse March 26th- April 4th!  Tickets go on sale on March 2nd.

Ben Sutton (Junior), measures wood to cut for set pieces.  “To me, this is one of the most crucial parts of our job,” said Sutton. “If we miscalculate one measurement, there’s always the possibility we have to go back and cut and ensure all over again, so it’s important we try and get it right our first time.”
