MEDIA RELEASE Panther Playhouse at Bartlett High School The Panther Playhouse at Bartlett High School presents Disney’s TARZAN with music and lyrics by Phil Collins and book by David Henry Hwang. The production runs March 1-10 on the Panther Playhouse Mainstage at Bartlett High School. Based on Disney’s 1999 animated film, an infant boy washed up on the shores of West Africa is taken in and raised by gorillas who name him Tarzan. Apart from striving for acceptance from his ape father, Tarzan's life is mostly monkey business until a human expedition treks into his tribe's territory, and he encounters creatures like himself for the first time. Tarzan struggles to navigate a jungle, thick with emotion, as he discovers his animal upbringing clashing with his human instincts. This touching story of love and family is one for the ages. This high flying musical stars Caleb Medlin (Tarzan), Kaelin Mitchell (Jane), Shy’Kira Allen (Kala), Joe Kusmierz (Kerchak), Simon Sutton (Terk), Jacob Priddy (Porter), and Josh Morrow (Clayton).
